How to get conversion on direct reservations and improve presence on Google.

There is a number of website builders available in the market, and any accommodation can now create, modify and update their website at any time, with their own Book Now button for direct bookings.  

Google Business profile

When searching for the hotel on Google, you you want your website price to be bookable straight from the search results. Also for any search on Google Maps, you want to be visible, with the price right there. For that you need Google Business Profile (ex Google My Business). 

 

It is free and it helps you reach customers in Google Search and Google Maps, link to your website, display business hours, share hotel photos, contact and ultimately display your direct rates online. 

 

Categories your accommodation as Hotel accommodation, assign any secondary categories to it (restaurant, holiday letting, wedding venue etc) and fill in the hotel details.

 

With Google Business profile you can have the price displayed via free google links, or "Sponsored - Featured options" where we bid on Google to get the hotel up there.

Picture speaks a thousand words, but so does the price, and the location, and additional information that you can provide to the guest before they asked the question. It´s about how you deliver it, and who you want to deliver it to. Your website is the best platform to display what your hotel offers in a simple and clear manner, with the Book Now button to achieve the maximum conversion on the direct bookings

You can display the information in any way you see fit your targeted audience, with the tone of voice appropriate for your message, and offer the best available price to direct bookers. 

It helps build the brand, awareness and market positioning. You can showcase any added services or features you have on offer, such as restaurant, tours, Spa centre or anything else that differentiates you from the competitors. Booking Engine 

Even more to the point than the website is the button to book a room. To capture any direct bookings on your website, it is essential that you have a booking engine on your website. Simply put, it´s a reservation system on your website. The potential guest can then choose to book directly because of the special offers or better price. 

They only need a few clicks, to choose the date, pick the room type and rate offer or mealplan, and add payment details to confirm the booking! The option should be there for the guest as soon as they land on your website - or even better - as soon as they google your hotel. 

The automation of Booking engine and the PMS can also work to automate emailing the guests, after the reservation, before arrival, after departure etc.

       Editing Booking Engine content

Your settings in the Booking Factory PMS will automatically create the booking engine content. That means you should make sure you uploaded the photos in high resolution, edited descriptions, created suitable room type and rate plan names. 

In the Room Types you can add the photos and description. 

You can choose whether or not to display each rate plan on the booking engine, and you can assign the cancellation policies. Extras are also easily added. 

Most importantly, mind the price difference! Make sure that the best price guarantee is on your website for direct bookings. Any promotions or permanent discounts that are applied on your OTA profiles should also be matched on your own website. You can also add an extra to the guest´s stay when booking directly with you!

Privacy Policy is also linked from the Booking engine, so make sure to update that too.
